There are many popular religious icons used in body art designs today that range from crosses to angels and pretty much everything in between however if you prefer your tattoos to reflect your mischievous side, then how about a devil tattoo? There are many different styles of body art using this particular image, many of which offer a more humorous take including many cartoon-style devils in both male and female depictions. 
However, while the devil has long been associated with black magic and the dark arts, most body art fans who opt for this image simply want to show that they have a naughty side and these often simply represent a playful and fun individual who likes to indulge in life’s pleasures.
As the master of evil and a symbol of temptation, God’s nemesis Lucifer, or Satan as he is more often referred to, has proved to be a popular image used in body art designs by those who favor tats with more edge and attitude. However, while a devil tattoo design certainly indicates a darker side to the individual’s personality, some of the more frightening depictions are often chosen as much for their shock value, as for their symbolism. Some illustrations simply show the head and shoulders with traditional pointy faced and eared red devil complete with horns while others show full bodied images with the trademark pitchfork tail and hoofed feet.
